You talk about some "eating"!

Monday, January 28
This afternoon Darrell's sister and her husband, Angie and Neal (who pastor the Moulton Church of God), delivered a recliner from Darrell's mom's house that she was giving us. Some of the ladies from the Moulton church wanted to send dinner (or supper, depends on whether you're talking to either Darrell or me). Talk about some good "eating"! Man, can those ladies cook!!! We had homemade chicken noodle soup from Ruth McCay, which was absolutely delicious. We had a fantastic salad with all the fixings from Diane Hill (Darrell works with her husband Ray at GE) (she even brought me cucumbers--which Darrell hates--and Bro LaFevor says is almost "ungodly"). And for dessert (don't be jealous), we had delectable peanut butter chocolate cake--and it was homemade--who has time to do that anymore? The cake was baked by Connie Dutton. Needless to say that we ate good that night. I'm sure God is going to put an extra "jewel" in their mansion for their kindness to us. We certainly appreciate their generosity. I probably need to take some lessons from these ladies on the cooking .

Later that night, Matt stayed at home and "babysat--or should I say phonesat" with Darrell while I went to hang out with my "girlfriends" at my monthly book club. Darrell heard me telling someone that I had to go hang out with my girlfriends and he said that I was just tired of hanging out with my boyfriend . I really did enjoy the refreshing atmosphere with these ladies--who range in age from the 30s to the 70s. I needed all the laughs and giggles that night. I thank God for our friends, without who (or is it whom?) life would not be the same without.

Keep praying that Darrell's left vocal chord nerve will become active again! We want you to pray specific about this!
