Whew! This roller coaster ride

Saturday, January 26th
Darrell's mom and Dan spent the night with us. We enjoyed their visit and this morning shared how good God has been to us all. Darrell's Dad died of cancer about 2 years ago and Dan's wife died of cancer about 5 years ago. They both know the ups and downs of this horrible road of cancer. We know that Darrell's case is very minor compared to what they had gone through with their spouses. Nevertheless, we still want your prayers with us to petition God to heal Darrell's vocal chords and his voice restored.

This afternoon we drove to Rainsville and visited with my Mom and Chick. Chick's wife died of cancer over 20 years and he was sharing about how things had really changed in diagnosis and procedures since that time. I know that God allows man to refine technology to help with these sicknesses. We had a great prayer time together and they really spoke words of encouragement to Darrell and myself. We are so fortunate to have such a caring family (on both sides).

Darrell's brothers and sisters have been so supportive. It truly is the saying "when one hurts, we all hurt".

Pat & Larry Banks brought over supper for us tonight. It was so sweet of them to do so. They braved the cold weather to come out and show their love for us. We just love them!

The boys have gone to the RAMP (Karen Wheaton's youth conference). We're expecting them to come back all pumped up and even more on fire for God! Who knows what will happen.

Continue to pray for Darrell - for his emotions and for complete healing of his vocal chords and for the thyroid.
