Prayer Time

After all the phone calls on Monday night, we decided to attend the weekly prayer meeting at church and get the folks there to join us in prayer for the complete healing of Darrell's voice and this cancer. The youth usually have a separate prayer time, but they joined Matt & Jacob and came in and prayed for Darrell in the adult prayer meeting. This Life Church youth group are "on fire" for God and I would welcome their prayers any time. Roger Stephenson gave Darrell a "prayer cloth" to bring home and put under his pillow.

By the time we got home, Darrell's baby sister and her husband, who pastor the Moulton Church of God, had driven over from Moulton to pray for Darrell and to reassure him with scriptures and positive comments. While they were there, Renae Stephenson and her sister Anita brought us some supper and all 4 of them prayed for Darrell. You could feel God's presence so strong, it was actually one of those "tingly" experiences. Thank God for friends and family who know how to "reach" God with their prayers.

I sat down and read emails later that night and had a very special one from my cousin, Janet, from Glencoe. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer several years ago and he is doing well today. The words that she wrote gave me such comfort. She could relate to me as the "spouse" of someone who had cancer, and also knew that when one member of the family hurts the others hurt. My mother had already called her and asked her and her church family to pray for Darrell.

We went to bed that night, much encouraged, and assured that God was in control. I reassured Jacob that night that God would take care of his Dad, that this cancer was not "terminal" and that his voice would return. I still believe that!

So many of you have told us that you put Darrell on work, church, and other prayer lists. We have heard back from people that we didn't even know and said that they were praying for Darrell. I know that with all this prayer going up for Darrell, that God will answer our prayers and fully restore Darrell's voice and heal his body.
